European Sperm Bank was founded in Copenhagen in 2004. We have helped bring more than 70,000 children across 60,000 families into the world and provide aspiring parents with safe, personalised and inclusive sperm bank services almost worldwide.
We know that the path to parenthood isn’t always straightforward. We are committed to giving you personalised guidance every step of the way, empowering you to make the choices that are right for your family.
But our commitment doesn’t end there. Donor conception is a choice for life for everyone involved. We offer long-term support for aspiring parents, donor-conceived persons and donors alike.
Families come in all shapes and sizes, and we support you, whether you’re an LGBT+ couple, a single woman or a heterosexual couple facing infertility challenges. Our partnerships with leading fertility clinics means we can also help you find egg donors and facilitate double donations.
Respected for our warm and competent client care combined with high medical standards, strong ethics, and advanced donor-matching tools, our donor sperm is consistently recommended by clinics around the world for its uncompromising quality. In our comprehensive screening process, only 5-7% of those who want to become donors are approved.
European Sperm Bank supplies and works closely with fertility clinics in more than 100 countries.
As we supply sperm around the globe, we follow national guidelines and, in addition, apply self-imposed standards, including a maximum family limit of 75 per donor. This is based on leading scientific studies and long-standing recommendations from professional bodies such as ASRM, while also closely following and adapting to ongoing and emerging discussions within the donor-conceived community. We also provide the option to use donors with even lower family limits – as far down as one.
Our headquarters are located in Copenhagen and we have donation centres and offices in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
We guide you through the entire fertility journey, providing support in 12 languages. Whether you need help finding the right donor or identifying a clinic that meets your unique needs, our expert team offers free, no-strings-attached consultations and is always available to answer your questions.
We empower customers with an extensive sperm bank catalogue where you can browse and choose sperm donors based on multiple characteristics. We give you an overview of the donor’s background, physical appearance, personality, family medical history, childhood photos and much more. While this is helpful information for you, it is just as much a document for your future child to learn more about their donor.
The sperm bank is built on uncompromising quality. Our donors undergo one of the most comprehensive screening processes in the world, so you’re guaranteed the highest quality sperm. Only 5-7% of those who want to become donors are approved and the screening process involves rigorous tests for infectious, hereditary and genetically recessive diseases and other checks.
As an international sperm bank, we hold multiple national and international licenses and accreditations.

At European Sperm Bank, we make things as straightforward and easy as possible.
If you have questions or need assistance, our team is available to provide support at every stage.
The sperm donors at European Sperm Bank come from diverse backgrounds, lead varied lives and represent a wide range of personality types. Each and every one has been rigorously screened before approval.
The sperm donor profiles include physical features, such as height, eye colour and skin tone, as well as details on character traits and personal history, like education, hobbies and personality insights. You have access to childhood photos, audio interviews, family history information and more, so you can choose a donor who feels right for you.
We share extensive information to help you make a well-informed decision that feels right for you — and to ensure your child can later have a meaningful understanding of the donor.

To simplify the search process, we’ve developed a series of features and tools. These include:
We also measure sperm motility (MOT) and supply sperm with varied MOT counts. This ensures we provide the right sperm for your treatment, as different treatment types require different sperm MOT levels. Our aim is to provide you with the best fit for your future, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding sperm motility.

We collaborate with trusted fertility clinics, hospitals, gynaecologists and fertility centers around the world to support a wide range of treatments, including ICI, IUI, IVF and ICSI. Once signed up with European Sperm Bank, you can browse our list of partner clinics and our experienced team is available should you require help finding a clinic that meets your unique needs.
Currently, legislation prevents sperm shipments directly to your home. All shipments must be directed to a licensed fertility clinic, even if home insemination is legal in your country of residence and the sperm is intended for this purpose.

At European Sperm Bank, we’re invested in helping build healthy, happy families and are here to support donor-conceived individuals. With this in mind, we offer all customers a free personalised book for their donor-conceived child.
Designed to help donor children understand their story in an age-appropriate way, every book is personalised to reflect your family – whether you’re a solo mum, LGBTQIA+ or in a heterosexual relationship.

You should consider buying extra sperm straws and keep them in storage with us to ensure that you have enough sperm straws from your preferred donor for future fertility treatments. It often takes more than one round of treatment to become pregnant, and you may also want more children in the future. By storing the sperm, you are essentially reserving the sperm donor for your future use. In the right cryogenic conditions, frozen sperm can often be stored for decades.

Sperm donors help build families, and becoming a donor is deeply impactful. We understand it’s a big decision. European Sperm Bank is always here to answer any questions potential donors have about donating in general, our donor approval process and sperm bank donation requirements.
Our donors undergo comprehensive health screenings, genetic testing, and semen quality assessments to ensure that medical and personal eligibility criteria are met. We also offer several rounds of counselling to make sure that you fully understand what it entails to become a donor. In some locations, there may be other eligibility considerations.
Currently, European Sperm Bank is only recruiting donors in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.

Although European Sperm Bank is not an egg bank, we can help customers find egg donors.
As part of Fertio, a collective of brands dedicated to providing services throughout the entire path to parenthood, we offer access to a team of compassionate experts who can help you with everything from selecting the right egg donor to coordinating with your clinic.
We recommend booking a free counselling session with a Fertio expert to learn more about the egg donor process.
As a part of Fertio, European Sperm Bank is in a position to help customers around the world with double donations.
